3 hurt after personal watercraft crashes into boat

Cause of crash under investigation

MIAMI – Three people were injured Sunday afternoon when a personal watercraft crashed into a boat near Sea Isle Marina, Miami Department of Fire-Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll said.

Two women and a man were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center after the crash.

"The fire boat arrived and they found a male and female who were the passenger and the operator of a Jet Ski that were in the water, we understand, knocked unconscious as a result of the impact," Carroll said.

The third victim was on the boat that was struck by the personal watercraft.

"That's why you always try to encourage using good judgment, be careful of your surroundings and a lot of accidents can be prevented as a result of that," Carroll said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
