South Florida surprisingly not No. 1 among mosquito-bugged U.S. areas

Miami-Fort Lauderdale ranks behind several Texas cities


MIAMI – South Floridians will probably find this hard to believe, but we do not live in the most mosquito ravaged area in the United States.

(We'll explain further after you swat a few more of the pesky critters away from your face.)

In its new rankings of the country's most mosquito-bugged cities, Terminix ranks Miami and Fort Lauderdale only fifth in the entire U.S.

(We'll let that sink in as you apply more bug spray on your arms and legs while you try and read this article.)

Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio make up the "Texas Triumvirate" that hold the top three spots in the rankings that determine the areas where service has been most requested.
