Man with abdominal pain medevaced by Coast Guard east of Savannah

Man, 35, taken to Savannah Memorial Hospital, Coast Guard says

SAVANNAH, Ga. – A 35-year-old man was brought to shore on a Coast Coast helicopter Friday from a vessel 90 miles east of Savannah.

The U.S. Coast Guard said watchstanders received a call at 12:30 p.m. from the 45-foot fishing vessel High Voltage stating a crew member was suffering from abdominal pain.

A rescue helicopter crew arrived at the scene at 2:35 p.m. Officials said the man was taken to Savannah Memorial Hospital at 3:39 p.m.

A search plane crew aided in coordinating the medical evacuation, officials said.
