Older man wearing hat, eyeglasses robs BB&T bank branch in Pinecrest

Another bank robbery reported later in the day in Fort Lauderdale

PINECREST, Fla. – An older man robbed a BB&T bank branch Monday in Pinecrest, the FBI said.

The robbery was reported about 1 p.m. at the BB&T at 13001 S. Dixie Highway.

FBI Special Agent Michael D. Leverock said surveillance video shows a man, who was wearing a hat and eyeglasses, entering the bank and demanding money from a teller.

He said customers were inside the bank at the time, but no one was injured.

Leverock would not disclose whether any money was taken.

He said the man left on foot.

The FBI also said there was a bank robbery reported about 3:30 p.m. at a TD Bank branch at 450 E. Las Olas Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale.

Leverock said there were no injuries reported. He would not say whether any money was taken.
