Neighbor shocked after body of woman found buried in Fort Lauderdale backyard

Woman says deputies dug 2 holes in yard where they found body

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Local 10 News is learning new details about the murder investigation in which the suspect is accused of killing a woman he met online for sex.

Tyeshia Dupree said deputies dug two holes in the backyard of a neighbor's house in Fort Lauderdale and in one of them, they found the body of 19-year-old Brittney Taylor.

Police said the teen was reported missing last month after meeting up with a man at a hotel in Tamarac for sex.

"When the police came, I seen them digging, so I guess that was her right there," Dupree said.

The Broward Sheriff's Office arrested Tyquan Pearson, 25, on a first-degree murder charge after deputies were led to the house where he used to live.

Court documents show that Pearson and another woman were evicted from the home in late April.

"My uncle said that one night, they were moving and there was a blue container, and he said that a man came and got his stuff. And I guess that's where the body was in," Dupree said.

Deputies said cameras at a hotel along the 8100 block of Commercial Boulevard captured Pearson leaving his room with a large stroller and a storage container.

The same cameras also showed Taylor arriving but never leaving the room, deputies said.

"She's 19. She was a sweet girl, bro. She don't deserve this from nobody. I don't care if she was out there doing whatever," the teen's brother, James Taylor, said.

Dupree said she saw Pearson go back to the Fort Lauderdale home after he was already evicted.

"He came back over here because that's his dog right there," she said.

A motive for the killing is unknown.
