Fire breaks out on Weston golf course

Fertizilizer sprayer bursts into flames, no injuries

WESTON, Fla. – Unfortunately, it was not a player's hot round that caused a Weston golf course to catch fire Wednesday morning; the reason was much more mundane.

A fertilizer sprayer burst into flames on the 7th hole at Weston Hills Golf Course with the fire coming up through the seat.

The worker who was on the vehicle at the time was able to jump off without any injury.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue crews were able to put out the flames, but it gave new meaning to the phrase, "Fire in the hole!"
