Tim Hortons celebrates Canada Day with poutine doughnut
Canada turns 150 July 1
Tim Hortons is celebrating Canada's 150th birthday with a new, patriotic menu offering: a poutine doughnut.
Canadians shouldn't get too excited, though, the doughnut, dipped in a honey glaze, smothered with gravy and topped with potato wedges and cheese curds, is only available at participating stores in the United States.
A spokesperson for the restaurant told the CBC, "We're confident our guests will be delighted by our Canada 150 offerings both north and south of the border."
The new treats will be available beginning July 1 at participating restaurants. The restaurant says the Canadian restaurant will have its own special menu in Canada, but the food will be "much tamer."
