Professional marathoner outruns 2 black bears

Runner 6 miles into run in Maine woods

Moninda Marube was training on a nature trail in Maine when two black bears began to charge at him, according to ABC News.

Marube said he was about six miles into his run Wednesday when he encountered the two bears.

"I was not going to fight them," he told ABC.

The runner decided to sprint to an empty house where he was able to slip inside a screened-in porch. The bears pawed at the door before moving on, letting Marube get away safely.
