1 dies, 2 injured in Hialeah crash

Cause of crash under investigation

HIALEAH, Fla. – Two people were hurt and one person died Tuesday afternoon during a crash in Hialeah.

The 57-year-old driver of a white Nissan Xterra  was headed southbound on East 10th Avenue approaching East 13th Street when he encountered  a white Chevrolet Box Truck driven by Franklin Delno Burn, 54,that  was parked in the middle lane of East 10th Avenue, Hialeah police said.

The driver of the Nissan veered into the middle lane where Burn’s was stopped struck his vehicle from behind, police said.

The Nissan's driver was airlifted to an area hospital due to being completely disoriented and hurt after the crash, police said.

Burns was pronounced dead and his passenger was injured in the crash, the cause of which is under investigation.
