MIA Mover passengers evacuated by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue after train breaks down

Passengers taken back to rental car center

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Passengers were evacuated Monday morning from a MIA Mover after the train broke down while on the way to a terminal at Miami International Airport from a rental car center, authorities said.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue spokeswoman Erika Benitez said the incident happened at about 10:30 a.m.

She said all passengers were OK and were evacuated from the train.

The passengers were taken back to the rental car center, Miami International Airport spokesman Marc Henderson said.

Henderson said buses took travelers back and forth from the terminals to the rental car center until the afternoon, when the train was back up and running.

It's unclear what caused the train to break down.
