About a week after Miami-Dade Commissioner Joe A. Martinez reported a County pickup truck that was assigned to him was stolen, police officers found it on a sidewalk in Allapattah.

Detectives began to search for the truck July 28 after it vanished overnight from the parking lot of the District 11 office in West Kendall.

Martinez, a former Miami-Dade detective, announced on Facebook Friday night that it resurfaced near Northwest 23rd Street and 11th Avenue.

"Much of the equipment in the vehicle was stripped off and the paint completely damaged," Martinez wrote.

The 2001 Dodge Ram pickup truck had his name on the side of it.

Today we were notified by the City of Miami Police that Miami-Dade County truck assigned to our District had been found...
