MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A man and a woman diving for lobsters Sunday found human bones under a Florida Keys bridge.
The couple, who traveled to the Keys for the day from Naples, told deputies that they were under the Card Sound Road bridge that connects Miami-Dade and Monroe counties when they spotted a human skull and several other bones.
They notified a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officer who was patrolling the area.
Monroe County Sheriff's Office major crimes Detective Bob Dosh was assigned to investigate.
The bones were turned over to the medical examiner to determine the person's identity, how long they've been there and what may have caused the person's death.
