Woman born during last eclipse gives birth during Monday's eclipse
New mother was born Feb. 26, 1979
An Iowa woman who was born during the 1979 solar eclipse gave birth to her child Monday--during the "Great American Eclipse."
Dawn Gettler said her baby girl was actually born a few days late.
"We were kind of hoping to have her on the 17th because that's my husband's birthday so he kind of wanted a birthday baby but she held out for Monday the eclipse day," said Gettler.
Local news station KCRG says the Gettlers are already starting to talk about plans for the next solar eclipse in 2024.
