MIAMI – Two homeless people safely escaped from an abandoned house that caught fire early Wednesday in Miami.

The fire started at a house near Southwest 10th Avenue and Southwest Fourth Street.

Miami's assistant fire chief said there were two homeless people inside the house at the time, but they got out and were not injured.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames before they could spread.
