Mother of 4 gunned down while riding in car in Miami, police say

Victoria Tutson, 30, shot multiple times

MIAMI – Police are searching for the shooter who killed a mother of four last week in Miami.

The shooting was reported about 11 p.m. Sept. 26 near Northwest 17th Avenue and 65th Street.

Miami police said Victoria Tutson, 30, was riding in a vehicle with a man when someone shot into their car.

Tutson was shot multiple times.

Police said the man was not injured and drove her to North Shore Medical Center, where she died.

Tutson's family pleaded with the public Tuesday to come forward with any information that can help detectives make an arrest.

"Somebody murdered our sister, and someone has to have it in their heart to say, 'You know what, she has four children,'" the victim's sister, Shakurah Tutson, said.

"Somebody had to see something, but we live in a time where people are scared to come forth," Victoria Tutson's father, Clarence, said.

Detectives said the man who was driving the vehicle that Victoria Tutson was in is cooperating with the investigation.

Authorities said the shooter was believed to be riding in a silver SUV.

A motive for the shooting is unknown.

Anyone with information can call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers anonymously at 305-471-TIPS.
