Get an email saying you won the MEGA MILLIONS? Don't reply

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Lottery is warning about a lottery scam going around that could fool you into thinking you've won $1 million.

Here's how the scam works: Potential victims receive an email saying they've won a prize. In reality, scammers are hoping you'll reply and provide your personal and financial information.

Officials warn that scammers have taken steps to make these emails appear legitimate, including using the MEGA MILLIONS logo, telling people they've been randomly selected for a prize.

But, lottery officials warned in a Monday email, you should not respond to these emails. Nor should you transfer any funds to secure your prize for that drawing or any other Florida Lottery game.
