Miami police said an off-duty officer was parked at the corner of Northwest 15th Avenue and Northwest Seventh Street when Gutierrez approached him and asked to be taken home.

According to the arrest report, the officer asked Gutierrez for permission to pat him down for the officer's safety.

Gutierrez consented to a search of his backpack and spontaneously said, "You refused to take me home, so take me to jail," police said.

When the officer asked Gutierrez why he should take him to jail -- "You did not do anything," the officer replied -- Gutierrez led police to the woman's body, the report said.

Officers searched Gutierrez's backpack and found "personal clothing, a knife case and a knife inside," the report said. One of the officers saw "what appeared to be wet blood with skin and body flesh on the knife."

After Gutierrez provided an address to a home, police arrived and found the woman dead with multiple stab wounds to her body.

Police have not provided the name of the victim or a motive for the stabbing.
