MIAMI – Gold Star widow Myeshia Johnson attended a Veterans Day service in Miami's Overtown neighborhood with Rev. Al Sharpton and Rep. Frederica Wilson.
Sharpton's special prayer at the St. Agnes Episcopal Church at 1750 NW 3rd Ave., focused on comforting Sgt. La David Johnson's pregnant widow. She is still waiting for the results of the Pentagon's investigation on her husband's death at the hands of Islamic militants in Africa.
Denrick E. Rolle, the church's pastor, Rev. Dennis M. Jackson II, of New Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, members of the African American Council of Christian Clergy, representatives from each branch of the military and members of the 5000 Role Models Alumni also participated in the service.
