Man recalls being stabbed in neck outside North Miami Beach convenience store

Wounded Jamul Myers stumbles into store, collapses, surveillance video shows

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A stabbing survivor is recalling the day he was attacked during an argument that escalated outside a North Miami Beach convenience store, and now he has a large scar to remind him of what happened.

"I thank God for being here. That's it," stabbing victim Jamul Myers said.

Myers didn't need to see surveillance video to understand how close he was to dying.

"I don't feel no [sic] pain," Myers said.

Myers continues healing two weeks after he was stabbed several times outside a North Miami Beach convenience store by someone he said he once considered a friend.

"I was trying to help him get a job, and he told me, like, he didn't want no job," Myers said.

It's still unclear what sparked the initial argument between the two former friends, but police said both men exchanged words outside the store in North Miami Beach.

Myers, a father of three, threw a soda at Donald Brown, and that's when the situation escalated.

Surveillance video shows Brown attack Myers after he exits the store.

Myers, who was critically wounded and desperate for help, wandered back inside the store, where he stumbled around before collapsing on the floor, soaked in his blood.

"He's got a lot of hate in his heart," Myers said of Brown.

Myers said the attack is now serving as a wake-up call for not only himself, but his three sons, who nearly lost their father in an act of violence.

"I'm trying to better my life," Myers said. "That's what's on my mind."

Myers said he's over what happened and has no hard feelings toward his attacker.

Brown remains jailed after giving a full confession to police.
