RAMROD KEY, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol troopers have arrested a 36-year-old man in a hit-and-run crash that killed a woman in the Florida Keys.
Troopers said Kevin O'Connor was driving a Chevrolet Silverado truck when he struck and killed Nehama Rena Monzioch, 43, about 11:30 p.m. Nov. 25 at the 26.5 mile marker of the Overseas Highway.

She was riding her bicycle home from work at Boondock’s Restaurant on Ramrod Key when she was killed.
Troopers said the force of the crash was so great that Monzioch's bike was split in two.
Monroe County sheriff's deputies discovered her body about an hour after crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said O'Connor had been drinking at My New Joint bar in Cudjoe Key before the crash. Receipts showed that he bought five beers and a whiskey, according to the statement of probable cause.
After the crash, O'Connor pulled into the parking lot of the Looe Key Tiki Bar in Ramrod Key, troopers said. An employee told troopers that he saw O'Connor pull in at a high rate of speed. His truck had visible damage with a large piece of metal hanging off the side of the vehicle, the employee told troopers.
According to troopers, the employee spoke with O'Connor who admitted that he was drunk but said he "didn't hit any people." When the employee went to call 911, O'Connor sped off, troopers said.
Troopers said they received an anonymous tip Nov. 27, which led them to O'Connor. When troopers interviewed O'Connor Friday, they said he told them that he did not remember leaving the bar, only waking up at home the next day.
O'Connor is currently being held on $50,000 bond at the Monroe County Sheriff's Office jail on Stock Island.
He faces a charge of leaving the scene of a crash involving death.
