Former basketball player and current friend of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, Dennis Rodman, says he wants to organize a basketball game between the rogue nation and U.S. territory Guam to promote peace.
The Los Angeles Times reports Rodman, speaking from a "humanitarian tour" in Beijing, said, "We thought, 'This would be awesome!' The people in Guam are all about it. They love it. You get a team from North Korea, get these guys from Pyongyang. Play it in Beijing."
E.J. Calvo, Guam's national basketball team's head coach, said in an email that "this possible game would be a great opportunity."
Rodman has visited North Korea five times since 2013, and says he will seek approval for the basketball game idea from North Korea's ambassador to the United Nations in New York.
