Homeland security agents intercept migrants near Miami Beach


MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Homeland Security agents intercepted two migrants Tuesday who were trying to come ashore on Miami Beach, official said.

Homeland Security spokesman Nestor Yglesias said the migrants were taken from their vessel and detained. He said the migrants never made it to land.

The incident happened around 7 p.m. near the beach at Ocean Terrace and 75th Street.

Yglesias did not disclose the nationality of the migrants.
