Woman fatally shot inside car in south Miami-Dade

Witnesses say they heard gunshots, another car speed off

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A 30-year-old woman was shot and killed inside a car early Sunday in south Miami-Dade County, according to witnesses at the scene.

Witnesses said around 3 a.m. Shevone Vinson and her boyfriend were parked outside the home of her boyfriend's mother along Southwest 147th Place near Southwest 286th Street. 

A short time later, witnesses said, they heard a second car pull up and Vinson and someone inside the other vehicle arguing. Witnesses said they then heard several shots and the second car speed off.

Witnesses said they did not see the second car. Vinson's boyfriend did not appeared to be hurt, witnesses said.

Witnesses said Vinson was taken away in an ambulance, and she died sometime later.

Friends described Vinson as a loving mother of four children who was active in her community. 

The Miami-Dade Police Department has not publicly released any information about the shooting.
