Shots fired as woman robbed at gunpoint in Miami, police say

Victim not injured in shooting

MIAMI – Shots were fired early Wednesday morning during a robbery in Miami, authorities said.

The incident was reported shortly after 5 a.m. in the area of Southwest 14th Avenue and Eighth Street.

Miami police said the victim was walking on 14th Avenue when she was approached by three black males, who demanded her purse at gunpoint.

Police said the woman handed over her purse, at which time shots were fired.

The woman was not injured, authorities said.

Police said an officer who happened to be in the area witnessed the shooting.

All three suspects were arrested. Their identities were not immediately released.
