Man found shot to death near Miami River

Homicide detectives investigate after man found shot multiple times

MIAMI – Police are investigating after a man was found shot to death Thursday morning near the Miami River.

Miami police said a park ranger found the man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on the ground near a boat ramp outside 1901 NW 24th Ave, adjacent to Curtis Park. The ranger called 911 about 8 a.m.

Police said the wounds were not believed to be self-inflicted.

The man has not been identified.

Niclef Sauer, an area business owner, believes this may have been some sort of drug deal gone wrong because he has seen similar types of criminal activity in the area before.

Police said they're still looking for the shooter, as well as a motive for the crime.

Anyone with information is urged to call police.
