Woman found dead in Miami

Witness says man dumped body at scene

MIAMI – A woman was found dead Wednesday morning in Miami.

Miami police said the woman's body was discovered shortly before 6:30 a.m. near Northwest 37th Street and Northwest 25th Avenue.

Detectives and crime scene technicians spent about eight hours gathering evidence from the scene.

A man who spoke to Local 10 News said he saw a car drive by and believes the body was dumped there.

"The guy opened the driver's side (door), walked to the back of the car, opened the passenger side, took out the body (and) put her on the floor," he said.

Surveillance video indeed shows a dark-colored Honda pulling up to the area around 4:40 a.m. It was parked for about 20 minutes before a man got out of the car and walked over to the passenger side.

Once there, he opened a door, fumbled around for a few seconds and apparently placed something -- possibly the body -- on the sidewalk.

He then quickly got back into the car and drove away.

The man returned to the scene about an hour later as the sun was coming up. He parked about 100 feet away from where the woman's body still laid motionless on the street.

"I said to my friend, 'Something's wrong with that car,'" the witness said. "And the guy left."

The witness, who did not want to be identified, said he never saw the body until police showed up around 6:20 a.m.

Anyone with further information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
