MIAMI LAKES, Fla. – When detectives arrived they said they found a crashed car that was riddled with bullets and 37-year-old Lester Santana Hernandez dead in the back seat.
Miami-Dade Police Department officers were searching for his killer Friday. The car crashed into a tree Thursday night along Northwest 89th Avenue near Northwest 146th Street.
Santana, who doesn't have a criminal record in South Florida, suffered several gunshot wounds.
A helicopter and police dogs were involved in the search for the suspect, but officers didn't find anyone related to the fatal shooting and they had not made an arrest as of Friday evening.
