Third person found dead after boat crash near Government Cut

Victims identified after Saturday night's fatal crash

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A third person has been found dead after a boating crash Saturday night near Government Cut.

The woman's body was found on the beach Monday morning, not far from where a 32-foot boat crashed into the jetty near Government Cut and overturned shortly before 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

Rob Klepper, a spokesman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, confirmed that the body was that of the missing boater. She was identified as Jennifer Cadavid, 28, of Fort Lauderdale.

"Our hearts and minds go out to the family of this victim, tragedy," said Ronald Washington, an spokesman for FWC.

Two other people were killed in the crash. They were identified as Christopher Colgan, 56, and his wife, Elisaine Colgan, 39, both of Pompano Beach.

Troy Forte, 37, of Juno Beach, was injured in the crash. He was rescued and taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center in Miami.

The boat was still upside down on the rocks Monday morning. 

FWC officers are investigating the cause of the crash.
