KEY LARGO, Fla. – A rent dispute led a 22-year-old Key Largo man to hit his landlord on the head with a baseball bat, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Michael Sreenan was arrested Monday night on a felony charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Sheriff's spokesman Adam Linhardt said a deputy was called to Sreenan's home for the second time in as many hours because of an ongoing dispute between Sreenan and his 23-year-old landlord.

The landlord told the deputy that Sreenan was arguing with him about the rent when he grabbed a wooden baseball bat and struck him with it. He said Sreenan hit him at least once in the face and several times in the head.

Linhardt said a motion-activated surveillance camera captured the attack and corroborated the landlord's version of events.

Sreenan was booked into a Florida Keys jail. His arraignment is scheduled for May 28.
