Robbery reported at Chase Bank branch in Pompano Beach

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – The FBI is investigating a robbery that occurred Monday morning in Pompano Beach.

The incident was reported just after 9 a.m. at the Chase Bank branch at 101 S. Pompano Parkway.

FBI spokesman Jim Marshall said the robber, who was wearing a hat and carrying a fanny pack, entered the bank and demanded money from a teller.

No injuries were reported.

Marshall said the FBI would not be disclosing the amount of money taken at this time.

Broward Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion said the agency's SWAT team was called in because the robber was believed to have fled into a Walmart at the intersection of Powerline Road and West Atlantic Boulevard. She said that information turned out to be unfounded.

Anyone with further information is asked to call the FBI at 754-703-2000 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
