ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A trio of thieves is accused of going around Florida and raiding tombs.

Orange County deputies say they would steal family heirlooms from cemeteries.

The group, deputies said, broke into niches containing cremated remains and took everything from jewelry to family heirlooms.

Deputies identified them as Angela Garrett, 52; her son, Drake Lee Milam, 33; and his girlfriend, Porsche Bancroft, 32. All of them are from Indiana.

The sheriff’s office is asking everyone to stay vigilant. They asked anyone who hasn’t visited a loved one’s niche to check on it.

There are at least 20 reported cases across Florida, but detectives believe the number could be higher.
