3 in custody after shots fired across from North Miami High School

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. - Three students were taken in custody on Friday afternoon after a shooting across from North Miami High School.

School board officials said the three people in custody did not attend North Miami High School, but they are school age.

The shooting happened at a parking lot at Northeast 131st Street and 8th Avenue about 4:15 p.m.

According to the Miami-Dade Schools Police Department, there were no injuries. A bullet went through a window of the school.

Police said at least two weapons were recovered. A gold car in the parking lot was towed from the scene.

The students are currently in custody, but have not been charged at this time.
