4 more buried after Hialeah massacre

Funerals held for Italo Pisciotti, Samira Pisciotti, Merly Niebles, Pricilla Perez

MIAMI LAKES, Fla. - Funerals were held Thursday for four of the victims of the apartment shooting in Hialeah.

Funerals for Italo and Samira Pisciotti were held at Vista Memorial Gardens. The couple was married just shy of 30 years and managed the building where the shooting happened.

When Pedro Vargas, 42, set a bag with cash on fire inside his apartment, the couple ran toward the smoke, police said. Vargas opened his door and shot and killed both of them.

"Very tragic for all of us," said Francisco Vargas, a family friend. "We were like brothers."

Funerals for Merly Niebles and Pricilla Perez were held Dade South Memorial Park.

Vargas killed the four and two others last Friday. The funeral for Carlos Gavilanes, 33, was held Wednesday.

It's unclear what motivated Vargas to kill the six, but investigators believe his involvement in a lawsuit may be related. Vargas gave deposition earlier in the week over abusive messages sent to his former co-workers, an attorney told Local 10.

Other viewing, funeral scheduled

A viewing will be held for Patricio Simono, 64, at 5 p.m. Sunday at San Jose Funeral Home, 250 E. 4th Ave in Hialeah. The burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Dade South Memorial Park.
