Andrea becomes post-tropical cyclone

MIAMI - After bringing rains, heavy winds and even tornadoes to parts of Florida, National Weather Center downgraded Andrea to a post-tropical cyclone on Friday evening.

As of 5 p.m. Friday, Andrea was 55 miles east-northeast of Raleigh, N.C., with maximum sustained winds of 45 mph with higher gusts. It was moving north at 28 mph.

Andrea made landfall in Florida's Big Bend area on Thursday afternoon. It's forecast to turn toward the east-northeast and east Saturday night and Sunday. Hurricane Headquarters
