MIAMI - The first floor of an apartment building at 490 Northeast Second Ave. flooded Tuesday after a unit caught fire and the sprinkler went off.

Officials said a control valve then failed to evacuate the water, causing it to back up on the first floor. It then began backing up onto other floors.

Residents were evacuated while the water and power was shut off.

All residents besides the one living in the unit that had the fire were allowed back into their apartments after several hours.

No one was injured in the fire or flood.
