Boat sinks, strands 2 in Florida Everglades

Neither father, 13-year-old son injured

FLORIDA EVERGLADES ā€“ The Broward Sheriff's Office found a father and his 13-year-old son onboard a partially sunken boat in the Florida Everglades on Friday afternoon.

BSO received a call about 4 p.m. referencing an airboat that had sunk about two miles west of Sample Road when it ends at the Sawgrass Expressway, or three miles east of U.S. 27.

Will Cazanas and his 13-year-old son William of Palm Beach County were out air boating about 12 miles west of the Loxahatchee Boat Ramp and three miles east of U. S. Highway 27 when their boat got stuck and sunk.

BSO said the two were brought back to the Loxahatchee Boat Ramp by BSFR rescuers around 5:30 p.m. Friday, where they were reunited with their wife and mother.

No injuries were reported.
