In a letter to staff, Bill Pohovey, Vice President and News Director at Local 10 News, wrote, "I am very happy to announce that one of the finest journalists in South Florida is bringing his talents to the best television station in the market."

Pohovey said Norman will contribute both on-air and online. His very popular blog, The Daily Pulp, will be moving to Local10.com, under the name Bob Norman?s Blog.

On his blog, Norman wrote, "The offer was pretty simple: Local 10 asked me if I wanted to bring my brand of journalism to the airwaves, and I accepted the challenge."

"It's a Post-Newsweek station with a longstanding dedication to high-quality political and government reporting. I've got a lot to learn, but I also bring something to the table, so it has the makings of a great match," Norman wrote.

Chuck Strouse, editor of the Miami New Times, told Local 10 on Friday, "I hate to see him go."

"He is the best newsman in South Florida and a great guy," Strouse said.
