Santeramo's BTU ally headed out

Headline Goes Here

One of scandal-ridden and criminally investigated ex-Broward Teachers Union President Pat Santeramo closest allies is leaving the BTU.

Out is Lynn Cavall, a member of Santeramo's inner circle who participated in the scandal that has led to a massive criminal investigation. Cavall recently pleaded guilty to breaking campaign finance law after she was caught being illegally reimbursed with BTU money for her political contributions to former Democratic gubernatorial candidate Alex Sink.

Here's the incredible part: Cavall, pictured above, is going to Palm Beach County where she's been chosen as the executive director of that county's teachers union, the Classroom Teachers Association.

Here's a link to the Palm Beach Post story on the union's executive board's vote to choose Cavall, who served at BTU in the rather creepy-sounding title of "director of strategic programs."

I've been talking to some very good union sources since the Santeramo mess blew up and judging from what they've said Palm Beach County has done Broward a great service with this move. Maybe they can pick up the others who have already been charged too.

The BTU, meanwhile, is still bracing for criminal charges against Santeramo after new BTU President John Tarka announced to stewards that a major indictment was coming soon.
