NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – A broken elevator has trapped a wheelchair-bound man in his North Miami apartment for more than three weeks.
Mark Merrian, 42, said he's been unable to go to the doctor or work because of the elevator. He lives on the second floor at 360 NE 125th Street.
"I feel real trapped, discouraged, disappointed," he told Local 10's Ross Palombo. "This is the worst thing in my life because, you know what, I'm disabled, I work -- I had a doctor's appointment today and I missed it."
Electricians were working to fix the elevator on Thursday evening. An inspector didn't expect the elevator to be up and running by the end of the day.
