POMPANO BEACH, Fla. - The Broward Sheriff's Office identified a robbery suspect who was shot and killed by his would-be victim.

A man living at the Conch Key Villa Apartments found 29-year-old Osner Louis near his garage about 5:14 a.m. Tuesday, according to BSO.

"He told detectives he was able to wrestle the gun away from the suspect and shot and kill the man," said Dani Moschella with the Broward Sheriff's Office.

The man told police he didn't know Louis.

Surveillance video showed Louis's accomplice leaving the area in a black car. The car may have been a newer-model Nissan, Mazda or Acura.

Anyone with information about the shooting or the location of the vehicle can report information to BSO at 954-321-4210 or to CrimeStoppers of Broward County at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
