FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - A box cutter-wielding robber drops his cellphone full of pictures of himself during a struggle with a victim, and deputies are asking for the public's help in identifying him.

The Broward Sheriff's Office said a man was walking in the 2500 block of Northwest Eighth Street in unincorporated Broward County at about 8 p.m. May 30 when a man grabbed him from behind.

The alleged victim said the robber put him in a chokehold and held a box cutter to his neck, demanding money, according to BSO.

Investigators said the robber tried to run away, but the victim chased him and fought him. BSO said the robber's hands were cut during the struggle, and when the victim backed off, the robber ran away.

Police found the robbery suspect's cellphone at the scene, and on it, there were pictures of the suspect.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
