Cars catch fire at auto repair shop

Firefighters didn't immediately release cause of  fire

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Several cars caught fire Friday afternoon at a southwest Miami-Dade County auto repair shop.

The shop was located at H&M Auto Body Repairs, 2675 SW 69th Court.

Sky 10 was flying above the scene as firefighters were dousing the vehicles with water.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said Florida Power & Light was asked to shut off electricity in the area so that they could use the water hose because of nearby power lines.

"Lightning struck a transformer that always blows up then a cable fell down hit a car that had people in it am those people had to jump out of their car and the explosion started," a witness said.

Firefighters didn't immediately release the cause of the fire.
