MARGATE, Fla. – A child was pinned underneath a car driven by his aunt Monday afternoon in Margate.
The 13-year-old boy, identified by family members as C.J. Martin, was apparently messing around with the driver when he jumped onto the hood and fell off. The vehicle lurched forward and one tire ran over C.J.
Officers and bystanders lifted the car off the boy after the incident at 491 SW 50th Ave.
"He was covered in road rash," Denise Ritenour,who helped pull the boy from under the car, told Local 10 News.
C.J. was conscious and alert as he was airlifted from the scene and taken to Broward Health Medical Center. His condition was not immediately known.
Police said no charges are expected.
