KANAWHA COUNTY, W.V. - A coal miner's moving rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner before heading underground with his fellow miners has gone viral.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports Josh Stowers performed the national anthem during a daily safety meeting with his crew at Mammoth Coal in Kanawha County, West Virginia.

Stowers' colleague, Shane Wriston, posted the video to his Facebook account, offering a jab at NFL players who protest racial injustice in the U.S. by kneeling during the anthem.

"There is no kneeling in this bath house... and we appreciate josh volunteering to sing after the meeting," Wriston wrote as a caption to the video.
