Coast Guard rescues 3 fishermen from burning boat

No injuries reported, Coast Guard says

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Coast Guard rescued three fishermen from a burning boat on Tuesday afternoon.

According to officials, a crew member aboard the Sea Puppy called in the emergency at 3:16 p.m., stating the crew's boat was on fire and taking on water about 1 mile east of St. Catherines Island, Georgia.

A Coast Guard boat and helicopter responded to the scene, and the three fishermen were flown to Air Station Savannah without injury.

 The cause of the fire is under investigation.
