MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Construction equipment caught fire Friday afternoon in southwest Miami-Dade, and the blaze spread to nearby brush, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Lt. Felipe Lay said.
The fire was reported shortly before 4 p.m. in the area of 26800 SW Eighth St.
Lay said there is concern regarding gas tanks located at the property where the fire started.
He said Forestry officials have been notified and are sending two Bombardiers to assist in extinguishing the flames.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
