1 dead, 2 injured after shooting near Fort Lauderdale

Deputies investigate fatal shooting in residential neighborhood

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A man was shot dead and two other people were wounded when bullets started flying Saturday near Fort Lauderdale.

Broward Sheriff's Office deputies went to 720 Harris Terrace after receiving a call shortly after 2 p.m. that shots were fired at an apartment.

Three people were found shot at the scene. Deputies said Vincent Holloman, 40, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other two people who were injured were taken to Broward Health Medical Center, where one victim was listed in serious condition. The other victim's injuries were not life-threatening injuries, deputies said.

Detectives believe multiple people fled on foot and may have left in a vehicle, BSO spokeswoman Joy Oglesby said.
