According to authorities, Reyes was driving on State Road 7 near Interstate 595, shortly after 3:30 a.m. April 8, when he lost control of his vehicle.

Police said the car rolled over multiple times and Reyes' girlfriend, Martha Hernandez Rondon, was ejected from the vehicle and killed.

Police said Reyes stopped communicating with his attorney shortly after making arrangements to turn himself in to authorities.

Reyes does not have a driver's license and is not a U.S. citizen, authorities said.

Hernandez Rondon was a single mother of two teenage sons.

Reyes faces a DUI manslaughter charge in the case.
