Armed robbers get away with cash, receipts from Broward County store

Robber drags customer back into store at gunpoint, deputies say

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Broward sheriff's deputies are searching for two men who were captured on surveillance video last month robbing a store in unincorporated Broward County.

The robbery was reported just after 10:30 p.m. June 27 at Los Paisas Groceries at 1851 S. State Road 7.

Deputies said the masked robbers entered the business through a back door, and one of the men walked behind the counter.

Surveillance video shows the clerk holding up his hands and stepping to the side as the robber ransacks the cash drawer.

"You have to be very patient," the clerk told Local 10 News reporter Andrew Perez. "If you rush and if you argue, you will be in trouble because these guys don't care about anything."

Deputies said the other robber pointed a gun at a customer who tried to leave.

The video shows that robber grabbing the customer by the back of the shirt and dragging him back inside the store.

Deputies said the thieves got away with cash and a box filled with several months' worth of transaction receipts. Authorities said the men left in a white car, possibly a Toyota Camry.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Detective Armando Enrique at 954-321-4270. Anonymous tips can be made by calling Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. A reward of up to $3,000 is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
