Braddock High School students accused of sexually assaulting woman granted bond

Teens to be released on house arrest, must wear GPS monitors

MIAMI – Two of four teenagers accused of sexually assaulting an incapacitated 21-year-old woman at a G. Holmes Braddock Senior High School prom party were granted bond Tuesday.

Adrian Machin, Luis Rosello, Julio Fernandez, all 19, and Adan Valdes, 17, were arrested earlier this month in connection with the alleged incident May 1 at the Bal Harbour Quarzo luxury boutique hotel. All four teens face two counts of sexual battery.

Court documents show that Fernandez and Rosello will be released on $15,000 bonds. Fernandez will be placed under house arrest and must wear a GPS monitor. He is ordered to stay away from the victim and the other three co-defendants. He cannot consume any alcohol or drugs and will be subject to random drug tests.

In addition, Fernandez must turn over his iPhone to police for forensic examination.

Local 10 News reporter Liane Morejon said Machin is expected to be granted bond under similar terms.

Miami-Dade police said the teens sexually assaulted the woman with a marijuana cigarette and the handle of an umbrella while they recorded the attack with their cellphones.
